Self-adhesive hi density Teflon tape to really make your rifle slippery in the bags.

Installation Instructions:

Preparation is important! The stock should be clean and free of wax and oils prior to applying the tape.

To remove old tape, gently heat the tape with a hairdryer to soften the adhesive. Don't use too much heat or you may blister the paint!

If you have removed any old tape or have any adhesive on the stock, try some WD40 which should remove it first.

Next use a mild solvent to remove any dirt, oil etc. Try some Shellite, Prepsol etc. Don't use anything too aggressive or it may spoil your paintjob. Windex will also work at a pinch.

Use a whiteboard marker, and mark the edges of the centerline on the tape. Do the same on the stock outside the area where the tape will go. Clean off after installation.

To be sure, you can mark the position with the rifle setup on the sandbags to ensure you get the correct front to rear position as well.

The best way to attach the tape is with a wet stock and a squeegee. Use a sponge and lightly moisten the stock. Then peel back one side of the tape to just past the centerline that you marked. Align the line on the tape with the line on the stock and push on to the stock. By leaving the backing paper on the other side of the tape, you can pull the tape into the correct position. Squeeze any air bubbles out with a squeegee (something like the edge of a cigarette packer works well), or a cloth or sponge. Be sure not to scratch the tape.

Once that side is in place and bubbles removed, keep pulling back the backing paper and work across the stock until application is completed. Wipe up all the water, and remove the alignment marks. You can use more Shellite for this if the water does not get it all off.

If you want to make it really slick, use some paste wax on the tape.
