The range comprises of the following:-
Rifle Range - 30 benches with target frames established at 50 metres, 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards. A standing post area (500 metres) suitable for various disciplines such as rifle metallic silhouette (air rifle, rimfire and centrefire), field rifle, lever action, military/service rifle and junior target shooters. The use of ranges beyond 200m/yd is restricted.

Club house with kitchen, Bunk house, Newly built toilets & showers, Laundry, BBQ, Cold Drinks Machine, Camping facilities with some powered sites. Rifle, Pistol and shotgun ranges. The rifle range has 15 concrete benches and extends to 500M. Benchrest disciplines shot at SSAA Mackay include Centrefire and Rimfire Benchrest (Groups), Centrefire and Rimfire Hunterclass, International Rimfire Benchrest (IRB), 500M Fly and 200yd Rimfire Fly.
