The next World Benchrest Championships, the WBC 10, will be held in South Africa during the latter part of June 2009.
With the completion of the final qualifying event in Australia last weekend the Aussie representatives have now been decided.
Along with other countries we are allowed a maximum of 3 x 4 person teams for this championship as per the WBSF rules .

12 shooters have indicated they are available for formal selection by the SSAA and subject to all signing a competitors agreement I expect they will be officially endorsed.
3 reserves have also indicated availability. The full qualifying list is in the Match Results section of this website.
The (provisional) teams to represent Australia are:

Team A: CRAIG WHITTLETON, PAUL SULLIVAN, BRENDAN ATKINSON, STUART ELLIOTT

Team B: DAVID KERR, MICHAEL HUEBNER, IRA ROLLEY, PHIL JONES.

Team C: GAVIN MARSHALL,ROB CARNELL, FERGUS BAILEY, BARRY WARWICK.

Reserves: RAY BEAVIS, ANNIE ELLIOTT, PETER FLEMMING

These are strong teams and all 12 are experienced competitors at WBC level. I hope that all Aussie BR shooters will give them their full support and these people will represent Australia and the SSAA well. You can be assured that our South African friends are doing their very best to make this World Championships one of the very best ever.
