Thanks for the tip and advise. Yes WBSF Rimfire WC is only HV but newspapers like to take a slant and gimmick with the stories. Not 100% in the details but never the less a good near full page spread in a large 2 area local paper with a positive story is a good thing for the sport in my opinion.
Your AUS team is mostly travelling together, more than half are spending some time in Frankfurt before and after the World Champs in France. Trainings all done, we r organised and packed, we have also seen some amazing scores at the range last week at French Nationals. We all know we have to bring our AAA game but also enjoy ourselves otherwise what's the point. Will keep u posted as we can....
Thanks to John, Bill, the pair of Greg’s, Stuart and Renee(customs brokers Australia). Feels like a win just getting all the paperwork sorted!
I was well and truly up the creek without a paddle.
Invaluable advice and assistance has also been gratefully received, by this very green team member, from the rest of the team and Phil Jones(Redback precision).
All going well over here, team bonding well and more importantly shooting very well in practise with a few 250's plenty of 249's. All the gear seems to have travelled well and the ammo seems to be behaving in the northern hemisphere spring.
Day 1 of 2 in Team event. The standard in Europe has lifted 249 and 250 are common place. Aussies will be mid to 3/4 in the field. I think they have a lot more large comps here as travel is no bear for them. Results a little later as last detail still shooting.
Teams event done and dusted. The standard around the world and particularly in Europe has improved dramatically. Of our 3 teams our Team B was best at 8th spot Team A was 24th and Team C was 27th. Stuart Neale and Tyrone Thompson were best and most consistent of the aussies in team event.Individual World Championships start tomorrow #havingaball
Looking at the scores i have told the team to be proud. Most of our scores would have won team gold in previous years, we now start individual happy and knowing the level required along with new personal bests to match europe.
#proudofourteam
Weather has taken a turn today, very tough with 1 card to go. Aussie King John Radford's record was under threat but the top runners dropped a point each on target 5.
It's a wrap for the 2022 WBSF World Champs, top 3rd of field 4 me. I thank my team who all helped make it a great event and trip for all of us.
Don Powell as always Kool and Konsistent even when there is Kaos around him.
Stuart Neale earned the new nickname of Mr 250 he seems to find them easier than most.
Billy Simmons probably got the worst luck of the draw but battled on like the champion he is. Greg Roulston thanks for your wisdom, u certainly have a handle on this game.
Tyrone Thompson what breath of fresh of air for our sport, who i now call mate.
Greg Schneider my #teamELEY side kick and right arm thanks as always. Danae and David Jenkins thanks so much for the use of the rifle and apart from a few hick ups you both shot amazing. Danae thanks for assisting me on many team matters. Matt Sharp always there to help out and a pleasure to shoot by your side mate. Our support crew, Tom & Yvette and the boys thank you too. 1 things for sure we are all coming home much better shooters
John Radfords 2014 WBSF Rimfire Record of 1500-114x still stands after the recent world championships which were held in france at the same range where johns record was set . This was a remarkable achievement at the time when one considers all the improvements in equipment that has occurred in the.8 years since , also the fact that second place was john patzwald with 1498-99 who also used johns Rifle and gear. The Rifle used was i believe was a falcon built here in Australia using a shillen octagon barell.
