Peter Armstrong wins NSW Titles 1.3 points above Darren Newton in 2nd place... Lay off or not, when he means business look out. This was held at SISC which is Peters home range and also the venue for RBA Nationals.. Will be an interesting Chanpionship to say the least with 80 shooters trying to get 1 foot on the plane to Finland 2025

Guy I’ve been asked about my rifle. It’s an early DiOrio V1 2 lug Turbo action serial # 36 with Shilen ratchet barrel chambered by Richard Gorham in the USA and a Flavio Farr trigger and Harrel tuner. Richard fitted 3 barrels and the action and barrels were sent to US Eley test tunnel to be tuned. Below is the printout of the tuning for the barrel I used on Sunday, at the US Eley tunnel the action is fitted into a cradle that recoils and different speeds of Eley are used to dial in the tune and I set the tuner at 449 for this barrel as per test results.
I make my own balsa core carbon fibre stocks and when I finally received the barrels and action I used the US test tunnel info to dial in the stock. Testing in the tunnel at SISC I wanted all 3 barrels to shoot the same as they had in the US and at times 2 barrels would work and one wouldn’t, it took time to sort out. I’ve found in the past that stocks and bedding can have an effect on tune and I wanted this stock have a neutral effect on tune and that’s how I went about it, for the record this action is bolted and glued into the stock.
10 years back when I did this the exchange rate was around $1.20 so I spent whatever I needed to and called it Project Alchemy the art of turning lead (bullets) into gold (medals) and given this rifle has been to 9 nationals and won 5 of them, I think it’s worked out OK.
