Batemans Bay Club Fly shoot & New Facilities

Hi All,

Our new facilities (500 Metre target frames and metal splash plates) are all completed and we will be holding a club fly shoot as practice and testing for next months state title fly shoot.

If anyone is interested, it will be this saturday (28th May) starting at 12.00 mid day for a 5 target Centrefire Fly Shoot.

Cheers

Anthony

Range Layout

Hi Anthony

I have a question regarding the range layout as I have not been to Batemans Bay before.
Someone said the range is a little down hill to the targets, do you find your shooters have to have raise their rear bags to get the elevation correct?
I have seen some shooters use a donut or a block of wood under their rear bag so that they get a little more height wehn shooting down hill, particularly if your front rest does not go very low.

Range Layout

Hi Dave. Yes the range is a little down hill. to the 500. The 200 for Sunday's rimfire is more down hill than the 500 Centerefire.

Depending on your front rest and stock config, you may need a spacer (block of wood, doughnut or whatever) under your rear bag.

This is easier to achieve than having to raise the front to shoot up hill in my opinion. Bring a few different size wooden spacers (or there are some at the range).

Cheers

Anthony

Spacers

Thanks Anthony

Thanks for the info, I will indeed bring along a Donut and\or block of wood.

If the weather does its part then it should be a good weekend. I think we have 5 shooters coming down from our range at Silverdale (Sydney) for the rimfire event on the Sunday.

Regards

Dave
