Heh Rob,
How about I just bring my own gun?
The Steyr 460 and it is available in Australia right now at the QLD Gun Exchange (see photo). Hope the link works because otherwise photos don't seem to post. ????
Stuart,
ps,
little matter of cases and dies but I guess we could sort that.
Yep an interesting outfit. The bolt locks up in the block attached at the breech end of the barrel. The rest of the bolt guide is made of a polycarbonate sort of stuff. I suppose it only has to guide the rear alignment of the bolt body anyway. Just seems odd being sort of plastic. Anyway that muzzle break is substantial. Otherwise a bit of an odd looking rifle but at least it would recoil straight I guess. Dunno where you would use it because no rifle range in Australia would allow it I think. Terminal energy might be a bit much for the safety templates I guess.
Steyr-Mannlicher claim sub MOA performance at 1 mile or 1500 metres and they call it a "sporting weapon". http://www.steyr-mannlicher.com/index.php?id=190&L=1
So what sort of groups did you get on full auto Rob? Guess you could beat the wind changes that way! :)
