Why is this so.??
G"day All, Just a query as to why the powers above when setting out a format for rimfire events put the light gun in front of the heavy gun after a two day heavy gun IRB event.?? That means if you want to shoot the heavy gun bench after the first two days of IRB you have to wait around a full day to shoot the heavy class ,not everyone has a light gun, but everyone attending has a heavy gun.?? Its most likely a ploy to get more shooters for the light gun but it works both ways, some will just go home and forget about it. Anyway thats my whinge for the day.:-)). Regards Native

Whinge for the day
Hi Damien I'm with you on this one. Take the Hunterclass events which are held over four days, if you want to shoot the Heavy gun only in the centrefire class you need to wait till the fourth day, This costs an extra nights accommodation and usually an extra days annual leave which would be better used attending another shoot imho. I will just put my $0.02
I will just put my $0.02 worth in here folks. Over thirty five years + of comp shooting I have been to a lot of events at state national and International status. I have also arranged and run a number of State Shoots and National Championships. I state this not to blow my own trumpet, but to establish that I know what I am talking about here. We set the program, in a format that has usually been used before, and that shooters are used to. They plan their travel around this. Why? Because no one ever seems to whinge about it - not to the organisers anyway. Damien, your suggestion has some merit. So, might I suggest that if you take the time to get enough people to contact the organisers of whatever event it is, and express your concerns, then just maybe something will be done. Some years ago I lobbied to have the experimental class event at the centrefire Nationals shot on the first day, instead of the traditional last day. It was done, and now that is the way we run it. These things are not set in stone, and if a good idea comes up, tell the organisers. Internet forums are fine, but that does not usually change things. For what it is worth, I agree with you. Now lobby for change. Cheers Brendan Atkinson

Another option
The other option is to shoot the Benchrest first, Light and Heavy then straight into the IRB seeing IRB does not have a light class. All up to the organizers at the event speak to them early and maybe it can be changed. Where is the next one to be held.

Have never been to that range so will be something new.Still trying to organize so i can get to Hunter Nationals at Springsure in a couple weeks but not looking good no accomodation for Mum and no one here to look after her while i am away so may just have to give it a Miss. Must go send Rob a message while i am on here see when the next lot of Seb Neo`s are arriveing.
