APPROVAL OF ADDITIONAL .223 PROJECTILE TO SSR
Upon receipt of a number of submissions from S&T Associations seeking approval to introduce the Hornady 80 grain .223 A-Max projectile to the list of “approved” projectiles permitted under SSR’s, the Board of the NRAA has decided to grant “approved status” to the Hornady 80 grain .223 A-Max projectile. In accordance with SSR 3.4.4.1, the actual “commencement date” for use of this projectile in all Target Rifle and F-Class Standard competitions has been set as 1st January 2009.
A separate Email:
Paul G has asked me to forward on to as many as I know ,
That SARA Executive has approved the use of the Hornady 80 gn A Max. For general use as of the 1st of October 2008.
This obviously means that they can be used in our Queens series.
This came about form queries sent to the NRAA about projectiles,
The NRAA have just said they will approve the 80gn A Max as of the 1 / 1 / 2009.
SARA felt that this would be unfair to all 5.56 users and have brought the date forward in SA to the 1 / 10 / 2008 for general use.
Can you please pass the word around so that all 5.56 users are informed in time.
