Is there a good barrel lapping compound available locally (Aus).
I read aluminium oxide is the go because silicon carbide may embed in the barrel?
Was thinking of diamond grit because it would cut faster without getting blunt but would also embed?
Played around on the old farm rifle with valve grinding paste but need something that cuts better so the lap doesn't get worn.
Destroyed 2 cheap cleaning rods & the barrel is now MI in some places:) but still tapered the wrong way!
Tight at the breach, slug still falls out the last 2 inches. End will be cut off, rest still needs work.
I'm so glad i didn't experiment on the little annie.
