Coffs Harbour Centerfire Nationals

A great night was had, roasted chicken, beef and pork amongst potatoes, carrots, asparagus and heaps of other cool edibles on night two of four at the best range in the country.
Yeah there's been some rain but the results are looking pretty good, Light tomorrow then heavy on Monday if any one isn't having a good time put your hand up!
Thanks to all those who have travelled far and wide to make this such a great shoot in this our range's 40th year.

Thanks to the whole Coffs crew

Rod did a fantastic job running the pad, Danny, Gary and lots of others I don't know toiled all weekend to make sure all went well.
I think this is probably the friendliest club in the country, and they made all shooters feel most welcome.

Thanks guys!

Spot on Rob

They certainly know how to put on a shoot. Great people, friendly atmosphere and a beautiful place as well. If you haven't been here, it's a must.

Congratulations to my great mate Steve Sori on winning the 4 gun, he just kept calm and chased me down. Thoroughly deserved, we are all just grateful he didn't use his "good" barrels or it would have been a massacre. Great shooting by Trevor Pearson. Congratulations to Milan Morrell who shot an incredible 0.1653 agg in the 200 Light.

Congratulations to all the winners a fine job by them, but the one who stands out to me is Milan with that agg at 200 he doesn't say much, a very quite achiever.
I would like to thank my very good friend Rob Carnell who helped me through 3 days of real hard shooting at my last 4 gun event, thanks Rob.
I would also like to thank Rod and most of his crew of Coffs branch what a branch this is folks, I thought Silverdale was about the best branch in Australia this of course was when Rob Carnell was President of Sydney branch, but this branch takes the prize, thank you folks for a bloody great shoot.

Great Shoot

Congratulations to Steve Sori on the four gun. Congratulations to the other winners and the first point gainers in the Hall of Fame.
Let's not forget the winners of the State of Origin this year Steve Sori, John Babic, Ean Parsons and Mitchell Tallar. GO NEW SOUTH WALES.

Great shooting Steve

Looks like this is the best 4 gun agg ever shot at a Nationals!

The first 4 were all under the old mark from Sully in 2010.

Well I have been to every

Well I have been to every National Benchrest Championship since 1976, and the 2019 was nothing like I have ever experienced.
For each day of the tournament, there was practically NO WIND to speak of. Plenty of rain though!
One would then expect that near perfect groups would be shot, but it was not to be. Oh yes, there was some fine shooting and records were broken, and a few really small groups were shot, but seemingly dead conditions still held plenty of demons. It was like those nights in Canberra during the Australia Day matches when dead still conditions produced plenty of stray shots. It soon identified any rifle that was not in perfect tune.
It was a marvelous experience on a unique range and a very friendly club.
It's a shame it's so damn far from Adelaide.
Well done Coffs Harbour.

Thanks to Coffs Harbour for putting on a great Nationals. 110% effort in those rainy/muddy conditions. Great bunch of people. Well done!

Great competition. Lots of small groups (and big ones). Lets hope for the next nationals there's a lot more small groups.

Thanks everyone for your best wishes.

Steve
