Guys
There was a email sent out yesterday saying that the Nationals will be going ahead.
Looking at the statistics for the virus in NSW the number for confirmed cases is doubling every 3 days which is on par with what has happened in Europe, so who knows where we’ll be by Easter. So I’m putting my hand up early and saying if the nationals are on the current BR champ (me) won’t be there. I’m in that age and health category that doesn’t seem to survive the virus, so I’m playing it safe.

It's a wait and see at this stage especially when some of us are in WA. I know competitors who have made the early decision because they cannot afford to take the risk of being quarantined for 14 days without employment. I'm not holding my breath that it will go ahead because if the NSW government decides to close all sporting events then we will have no nationals. I'm also quite concerned going through the airport with infected people passing through before they are quarantined. Then there's the plane itself to deal with. It's not looking good I'm afraid.

Hi Maureen
The centrefire group nationals are already cancelled and there was a email from SSAA NSW last night and all state and national championships planed to be held in NSW are now postponed. There was a IRB team going to the world championships in France later in the year but SSAA National has said its not sending any teams overseas, so at least those on the IRB team will know early what’s going on.
I think as far as matches go it’s going to be very quiet year.

For those who didn’t get the email the TRA nationals are officially cancelled.

Thanks Peter.
It was not unexpected so next year will be a fresh start wherever it is held.

It's everywhere my friends.
Keep safe.
Thanks

Pedro my friend. It is extremely unlikely that you will see the Aus. Teams at the Worlds in September and to say that we are dis-appointed is an understatment. But we need to remember that shooting is just a part of our life, not our whole life.
Being on the other side of the world, requires us to travel through Dubai and Paris airports to attend and as major international flight hubs, would be havens for the virus. Even if we wished to attend, the Government has restricted travel and our national association withdrawn the team until the WHO declassify the Coronavirus as a pandemic.
But we live in hope that the event is postponed and not cancelled and we can teach you some more Aussie slang somewhere sometime in the future.
Team KAOS - Catch us if you can! - Ya got no chance
Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
Hi my friend, I don't see either how we could attend, even if we are in Europe.
Almost all Countries are slowly shutting down. Portugal has declared emergency state. Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, and others to follow...
Can't see how the event could be maintained this year.
Postponing it to next year, I'm with Bill, it would be a disaster for both events, WBSF and WRABF. Let's see what's coming in the next weeks/months.
Of course protecting ourselves and our families is the most important thing at the moment.
Stay safe
Thanks
PedroS
Re RWC hopefully if they postpone it they keep it at later this year as both the RWC and WRABF WC in 2021 would be a disaster for one or the other or both and ultimately shooters.

I wouldn’t worry about international matches, until they have a vaccine for the virus international borders will be hard to cross. But even when get a vaccine it’ll take time for everyone around the world to get their shots. So maybe 3-4 years before we see international matches again.
Back in 2006 I started the first rimfire BR world team postal matches and when we can back to the ranges and to keep people interested in the international side it might be time to look at international postal matches again.
